Overview
In the Almaty region, alongside other cultural and natural landmarks, one can find one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the petroglyphs of Tamgaly. Since the Bronze Age, local settlers conducted various ritual ceremonies here, worshiping gods and spirits. As a result, over 5000 rock carvings now adorn numerous sacred sites, burial grounds, and sanctuaries within the territory of this historical and archeological complex.
